Anyone who knows the name of Chagall will be familiar with his totally individual style of painting and lithography.
Nearly all Marc Chagal artwork involves a mixture of humour, dreams and fantasy.  Because of his innovative way of portraying figures and fauna, by 1930 he had become a world acclaimed artist who spent much of his time in Paris.  During the war years whilst in the grip of the German occupation, Chagall moved to New York before returning to France on the cessation of the hostilities.
His stay in U.S.A. had left him with lasting memories and in 1977 he created the American Windows for the Chicago Art Institute to celebrate the U.S. bi-centennial.  In the American Windows, Chagall celebrates the greatness of the United States as a country of freedom, liberty, culture and religious tolerance.
It was in 1950 that Marc Chagall at the age of 63 under the guidance of Charles Sorlier a Professional printer, learned the art of making lithographs from scratch.  Working from the famous Mourlot Printing Studio he produced many outstanding lithographs throughout his remaining years and today they exist as a reminder of the importance of this gifted Russian artist.  Choose your favourite prints of Marc Chagall artwork from our varied collection.
Chagall died in 1985 and was buried in St. Paul De Vence, France.
